If you are constant and attend weekly classes, in about 6 weeks you will learn to feel different parts of your body and will begin to understand the isolations. However, you will need at least 6 months to learn and feel comfortable with the basic steps. From then, you will start learning undulations, improvisation and more complex steps. The art of belly dance requires constant work and practice. The length of development depends upon your ability and constancy. The fastest route to development is on a one to one basis.
